When a “Top 5” Global Bank wanted to increase their productivity, business efficiency and reduce travel costs across their 14 sites in Europe, they approached KDDI for a solution that would be simple to implement, yet provide maximum return on their investment.

As incumbent suppliers and maintainers of the entire EMEA WAN and LAN infrastructure, KDDI recommended a Video conferencing solution utilising both the public network and Bank private IP network.

KDDI designed a solution to reflect the way the Bank is structured in Europe.   At the core of the network is a Polycom MGC50 MCU, situated in the London Head Office. Spoke sites throughout Europe have Sony PCS conference units. Connectivity is achieved over the Bank’s resilient IP-VPN, with ISDN as further backup.

The Bank has achieved considerable cost savings, due to the reduction in travel costs and time saved. Presentations within the business can be delivered more quickly, allowing a faster more dynamic approach to change.

KDDI supplied, implemented and support all of the equipment within the Video conference network, to an agreed SLA.
