Hibun AE Information Cypher

As has been recently highlighted by a number of prominent news stories, the theft of laptops, PCs, floppy discs or memory sticks could expose your company and customer data. Hibun AE Information Cypher acts to prevent this by automatically encrypting the data stored on the device.

Drive encryption

• Encryption of the hard drive of laptops and desktop PCs
• All files are encrypted on the target drives except for Windows OS files and program files
• To view encrypted data users simply log on to Windows and the files are automatically decrypted.

Inside your company;

• Encrypted files on removable media (such as floppy disks or memory sticks) can be used freely within your organisation.
• Decryption of files is automatic within your organisation.
• Outside of your organisation encrypted files on removable media cannot be decrypted.

Outside your company;

• When copying files to an alternative medium the user will be prompted for a password
• When trying to encrypt a file the user will be prompted for a password.
• Decryption of files also requires a password.
• Users are therefore not required to install Hibun AE on their PC?s they do however need a password to decrypt the files.
• If your removable media is stolen or lost no information can be extracted.

Self-decoding files

• From a PC where Hibun AE is installed the sender of a file can set a password when encrypting data.
• The user who receives the data will therefore need the password to decrypt.
• The user receiving the files does not need Hibun AE installed on the PC to decrypt the data, upon entering the password the files are self-decoding.

Deleting Files

• Any file or folder can be completely deleted from a disk drive. In this way, using Hibun AE, it is possible to prevent unauthorised access to files by using data recovery software or other means.
